About Hydration

Water regulates temperature, carries nutrients and keeps the brain sharp — and most people walk around mildly under-drunk. Pale-yellow urine is a better guide than any fixed number.

Front-load fluids in the morning, keep water visible all day, and add roughly half a liter per hour of training.

Hydration FAQ

How much water per day?

Two to three liters of total fluids suits most adults, more in heat or around training — food counts too.

Does coffee dehydrate you?

Barely — regular coffee drinkers retain most of it. Count it toward fluids, then drink water alongside.

What are early dehydration signs?

Dark urine, afternoon headaches, fatigue and chipped concentration — all before real thirst arrives.

Do I need sports drinks?

Only for sessions over an hour or heavy sweating. For most training, water plus normal meals suffices.
